Racing Thunder X

By SpeedDemon · PlayStation · 4.2/5 · 25 Jul 2026

Excellent racing mechanics and stunning visuals. The multiplayer is gripping, although the artificial intelligence could be better.

Racing Thunder X delivers exactly what you would expect from a modern racing game, and then some. The driving physics feel remarkably authentic — you really sense the difference between a light sports car and a powerful muscle car as you take sharp corners and long straights. The attention to detail in the handling is impressive, with realistic weight transfer, tyre grip and suspension dynamics that make every vehicle unique and satisfying to master.

The visual presentation is absolutely stunning. Track environments are richly detailed, with dynamic weather effects, realistic lighting and impressive particle systems that make crashes and collisions spectacular. The car models are built with great care, with high-quality textures and realistic reflections. Racing in different weather — from sunny days to heavy rain — adds a new level of challenge and immersion.

Where the game truly shines is the multiplayer. Online races are smooth and free of lag, with an excellent matchmaking system that pairs you with players of a similar level. The competitive modes are gripping, especially the championship series, where you can climb the rankings and unlock exclusive cars and customisation options. Community features are well implemented and let you create teams, share custom liveries and take part in organised tournaments.

The single-player campaign does have some weaknesses, though. AI-controlled opponents can be inconsistent — sometimes challenging and realistic, at other times seeming to make inexplicable decisions or drive in predictable patterns. Progression in career mode feels a little linear, and the difficulty curve could be better balanced for beginners.

Customisation options are extensive, with hundreds of parts, colour schemes and stickers for every vehicle. The tuning system allows deep mechanical adjustments that can significantly affect performance, although it may be confusing for less committed players. The garage is intuitive and makes it easy to manage your car collection.

Overall, Racing Thunder X is a solid entry in the racing genre that stands out for its core mechanics and multiplayer features. Although the artificial intelligence and the single-player experience could be improved, the game offers plenty of fun for both enthusiasts and newcomers. If you are looking for a racing game with strong multiplayer potential and stunning graphics, it is definitely worth a try.
